Terracotta is still so popular right now. It's no wonder, this warm, earthy hue looks right at home in just about every decor style.
I first fell in love (again) with terracotta while on a holiday to Italy a year ago. While wandering Rome, you can find the colour just about everywhere - from pots grouped on terraces and tiled floors to rooftops and painted buildings. Terracotta is a type of clay based, glazed or unglazed earthenware. It means "baked earth" in Italian. The tones can range from a dull ochre to red.

One of the easiest and cheapest ways you can add the material into your home is with inexpensive terracotta pots. Group them together on a table or shelf, filled with fresh green plants. If you're brave, paint a wall or even better - tile a floor. Imagine, an inlay of terrcotta on a wood floor to look like a mat or a herringbone tile entryway.
On the table, layer a terracotta plate or bowl on top of something white for a fresh summer look or pair it with something dark for a more moody atmosphere. It's warm, earthy colour looks seasonally appropriate in summer or fall.
